In the United States we are Payatas Mission Outreach, Inc. a 501 (3) c non-profit organization.
P.M.O. was created as a means to be able to collect funds and to send missionaries into the Payatas area. This organization strictly focuses on one of the poorest places in the Philippines;Payatas, and none other.
When PMO started Pastor Jack Wilson along with his wife (Malou) and daughters (Laura and Linda) were sent to Payatas in July of 2006 and began Bible studies in two separate areas of Payatas. The Bible Study group grew and became a church and in three months time the church had moved into the present building and began the process of incorporation.
During their short time in Payatas, Quezon City, Philippines, they had brought the gospel to thousands of residents. Following the examples of Jesus Christ, they fed the hungry, gave out clothes, distributed toys and school supplies, they even had medical missions ministering to thousands. They have shown the Jesus film and had Christian performance actors to promote the word of God.
They were involved in a medical mission for a year and a half that brought the Gospel to thousands as well as giving medical care to those who would otherwise, not afford it. Their plans are to construct a large clinic in Payatas that will cater to even more individuals.
Recently they started a livelihood program to produce hand made shopping bags made from recycled materials (photos). They are praying that they will be able to export these products and create ongoing salaries for those who have no employment. PMO's goal is to reverse the degeneration of society here by providing hope combined with action so that these residents will be able to work and thrive in their environment.
This is how PMO started. PMO is still growing and will continue to grow because it's source is faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. |
