This is The Rain forest.

Forests in the tropics have a rich bio diversity. More than half of all the plants and animals in the world are to be found in the rain forests. More than 3500 species of plants and animals! The constantly high temperatures and the continuously high humidity in the tropics make this bio diversity possible. The temperature is in most tropical rain forests between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Camiguin Islands - An Ancestral Homecoming

Old Spanish documents indicate that the great explorers Ferdinand Magellan and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi, landed in Camiguin in 1521 and 1565 respectively but it was not until 1598 when the Spanish settlement was established in what was later to be known as Guinsiliban. (now one of the municipalities)

The first major settlement of Camiguin during the Spanish era was Catarman in 1679. This settlement grew and prospered into what is now known as Bonbon. The 1871 eruption of Mt. Vulcan Daan (pronounced da-ahn) destroyed those towns, the remains of which are the ancient Spanish church and convent in the present town of Catarman.

Because of the vegetation and natural springs, it has a cooler climate and it is well worth visiting this interesting group of Islands

Leyte "The land of History"

Not only the place of the famous uprising against the Spanish rule, but Leyte is also the location of the landing of the US Forces during world war 2, marking it's place in history as the point of entry for the American forces of liberation. Magellan traveled through this province on the way to Cebu as indicated on Leyte's provincial seal which also indicates the landing of General Mac Arthur.

Leyte is trans versed by many low lying mountains and extinct volcanos. It's capital city, Tacloban, is the most important seaport on the eastern coast while Ormoc City is the most prominent on the west coast.
